Full Stack Software Engineer

Job Summary: Scout AI is developing Fury, the first robotic foundation model for defense, aimed at enhancing U.S. forces capabilities. The Full Stack Software Engineer will work across backend, frontend, and AI-powered features to build reliable software for complex environments, contributing to the companys mission of innovation in defense technology. Responsibilities: • Build and ship full-stack features from concept to production. • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs. • Develop intuitive, high-performance frontend applications. • Integrate AI/ML capabilities into real user workflows. • Improve system architecture, reliability, and developer experience. • Work directly with users and stakeholders to refine product direction. • Contribute to infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring. • Help shape engineering culture, processes, and technical standards. Qualifications: Required: • 2-5 years of full-stack engineering experience (startup or high-ownership environment preferred). • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar). • Experience building backend systems (Node.js, Python, Go, or similar). • Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and distributed systems. • Experience shipping production software end-to-end. • Comfortable working across unfamiliar parts of the stack. • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities Preferred: • Experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs into applications. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). • DevOps or infrastructure experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD). • Startup or early-stage company experience. • Data engineering or analytics pipeline experience. • Experience optimizing performance at scale.
