Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM • Every other weekend requirement • 4th Floor East Wing PCU unit with 55 beds • Patient ratio 1:4 for both day and night shifts • Adult patient population (pediatric patients rarely, ages 15 and older when present) • Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness • Work with PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, and insulin drips • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Telemetry competency required • EPIC electronic medical record system • Alaris IV pumps utilized • Mechanical lifts available in every other room • Navy blue scrubs required • Nursing assistant support and charge nurse available • Float to medical surgical areas based on highest need • Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% score required • Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination • Driver's license required at submittal • Must reside outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities • Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This Level 1 trauma center provides comprehensive acute care services with a focus on progressive care and stepdown units.
