Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive DesignationJOB OBJECTIVE: To regularly inspect sub-standard commercial, industrial and office buildings, buildings under construction, and residential homes under construction to ensure properties are in compliance with City of Little Rock Building codes. Essential Functions For a complete list of essential job functions, please click Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, and two (2) years of experience in building construction, building inspection, residential framing construction, or a related area, to include one (2) year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, or a related area, and one (1) year of computer experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must possess Citation Authority Certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position. FOR INCUMBENTS INSPECTING RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY: Must possess certification per International Code Council as a Building Inspector (Residential or Property Maintenance and Housing) within twelve (12) months of date of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
