Job Description

This position provides comprehensive legal administrative support within a fast-paced law firm environment, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and excellence. The role requires strong knowledge of firm and practice-specific procedures, court rules, legal technology systems, and case management processes. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively with attorneys and staff. Title: Litigation Legal Assistant Location: Sarasota, Florida, United States Industry: Must have Law Firm Type: Full-time (100% On-Site) Note: (Law firm experience needed) Key Responsibilities: Handle case opening, conflicts checks, billing support, records, and coordination with firm departments. File pleadings in Federal and State courts in compliance with applicable rules and procedures. Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents. Track expenses and process reimbursements and payments. Assist with billing processes, including time entry support, editing narratives, calendaring due dates, and invoice distribution. Schedule hearings and appointments in accordance with court requirements. Calculate and monitor deadlines to ensure timely filings. Maintain electronic and paper case files. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum five years of Florida law firm experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and experience with case management and billing systems; knowledge of iManage, SmartTime, Aderant, and Relativity preferred. This is an in-office position requiring regular attendance and the ability to perform standard office tasks, including typing and document review.
