General Manager - Construction

Our client that specializes in large-scale industrial and manufacturing construction projects is seeking a General Manager, Construction to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across a growing portfolio of industrial construction projects, ensuring successful delivery while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across project teams. You will oversee execution across a portfolio of projects within automotive, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, electronics manufacturing, and data center environments. Responsibilities: Provide executive leadership and direction to project executives managing design-build and EPC work across multiple locations. Partner with design, procurement, engineering, and preconstruction teams to support successful project execution from planning through completion. Establish and promote construction standards and best practices aligned with company objectives. Oversee safety, quality, cost, and schedule across all active projects to ensure client requirements and company expectations are met. Review and approve project plans, budgets, resource allocations, and subcontractor selections. Lead and mentor Project Executives and field leaders while driving accountability, leadership growth, and performance through metrics and reporting. Support business development efforts and represent the organization in executive-level client meetings and joint venture discussions. Drive strategic initiatives focused on construction technology adoption, safety improvements, and continuous process improvement. Required Qualifications: 10-15 years of progressive experience in industrial construction, including senior leadership responsibility for multiple concurrent projects. Proven experience leading large-scale industrial or manufacturing facility construction projects. Experience in design-build or EPC construction projects involving multi-disciplinary teams. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field is preferred. Ability to lead and coordinate project executives, project managers, and field teams across geographically dispersed construction sites. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage internal teams, clients, and external partners. Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, contract management, and risk mitigation. Experience with Procore or similar construction project management platforms preferred.
