Professionalism: Demonstrate integrity, competence, and respect in all internal and external interactions Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide supervision and instruction for children participating in summer playground program. This is accomplished by assisting in instructing and supervising playground participants. Assisting with the evaluation of the program camp participants and; maintaining open communication with the Playground Director; implementing a system of recordkeeping for attendance and activity fees; evaluating camp participants and jointly developing improvement plans when necessary; attending and participating in orientation and training for the summer playground program; assisting in developing effective program plans, including games, crafts, field trips, and special events for Summer Playground Program in consultation with the Playground Director; assisting with implementation of lunch program; assisting in ensuring that equipment and facilities are safely and properly prepared and maintained for use by program participants. Other duties include instructing children and participating in physical and mental challenges, arts, and crafts projects; providing educational development opportunities, such as physical exercise, providing a safe atmosphere, promoting imagination and play, and developing and improving social skills; and assisting in providing nutritional opportunities through lunch program. Essential Functions Assists in providing organized and structured play by coordinating and participating in active and sedentary games; requesting and maintaining recreational equipment to ensure campers can participate in organized and structured play; providing and participating in board games, physical games, arts, and crafts that promote physical and mental stimulation; providing educational activities that promote creativity; organizing and participating in various sporting activities, such as basketball, kickball, and group competition; and supervising camp participants. Assists in providing field trips and educational opportunities by providing supervision to youth to ensure safe environment; instructing and assisting youth as they engage in field trip experience; accounting for any activity fees; monitoring transportation and field trip schedule in communication with Program Coordinator; promoting camper involvement in the overall experience; and evaluating field trip experience and communicating with Playground Director. Other duties assigned by Playground Director or Recreation Specialist. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OLD as of the posting date 3/5/26. Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License or reliable transportation.
