Kitchen Expeditor (Quality Assurance) The Kitchen Expeditor (Expo) plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, quality, food safety, and speed of service between the kitchen and the front of house. This position is responsible for coordinating ticket flow, verifying plate presentation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining communication between culinary and service teams. The Expo serves as the final quality control checkpoint before food reaches our guests. Key ResponsibilitiesTicket & Order Management Manage and organize incoming tickets in a timely and efficient manner Ensure proper pacing of orders during peak and non-peak hours Communicate clearly with BOH and FOH to maintain flow of service Identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve delays Verify plate accuracy against tickets before food leaves the kitchen Ensure all dishes meet presentation and plating standards Confirm portion sizes and garnish consistency Ensure modifications and allergy notes are followed precisely Confirm proper hot and cold holding standards are maintained Verify food is plated and served within safe temperature guidelines Monitor time-sensitive dishes to prevent temperature abuse Ensure no cross-contamination occurs during plating Act as liaison between kitchen and service teams Communicate delays, 911 tickets, or adjustments clearly Support teamwork and maintain professionalism during high-volume service Assist in maintaining a calm, organized expo line Maintain a clean and organized expo station Ensure proper sanitizer bottles are present, correctly mixed and labeled Follow 4-hour cleaning and sanitizing procedures Adhere to uniform and hygiene standards Qualifications Prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred Strong multitasking ability in a high-volume environment Clear verbal communication skills Ability to remain composed under pressure Strong attention to detail Basic understanding of food safety principles Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environment Work Schedule Expectations Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to work during high-volume service periods Flexible scheduling based on business needs
