Job Description Job DetailsDescription We are seeking a Vice President, Business Development. This role is primarily focused on new business origination but may also include managing and executing select investment banking or consulting projects. The VP will act as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients by building relationships and developing expertise across all products and services offered. They will also focus on personal branding through networking, speaking engagements, and publishing thought leadership content. Responsibilities: Generate new business nationally across all products and services to meet sales goals. Build and strengthen client and prospect relationships that drive value and create future opportunities. Identify client/prospect challenges and develop strategies to resolve them effectively. Manage and execute projects such as strategic planning, succession planning, M&A transactions, due diligence, and valuations, or coordinate with team members to complete these initiatives. Actively participate in sales meetings and complete business plans as directed by leadership. Collaborate with internal leaders and consultants to understand their services and uncover new business opportunities. Develop trusted relationships with clients to ensure retention and provide proactive consulting solutions. Maintain accurate and current information in the CRM system, providing pipeline updates during sales meetings. Serve as a facilitator for peer-exchange networks and identify consulting and cross-selling opportunities. Assist in developing marketing strategies, materials, and branding initiatives. Publish articles and deliver presentations on industry trends and timely topics. Stay current on industry news, trends, and best practices to enhance service delivery and client impact. Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders that can lead to revenue opportunities. Complete special projects and other assignments as needed. Selection CriteriaEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Professional designations and licenses are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Salesforce, with other relevant software experience as applicable. 10+ years of leadership experience in business development with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Background in financial services, insurance, consulting, or professional services. Experience in financial consulting, M&A advisory, or wealth management preferred. Formal sales training (Challenger, Sandler, Wilson, IMPAX, or equivalent) is a plus. Salesforce experience strongly preferred. Other: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with creative problem-solving abilities. Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently. Willingness to travel 50-60% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel. Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed.
