Ink Technician

Job Summary Under minimal supervision and guidance, perform various tasks related to the ordering, mixing, staging, and inventory control of flexo ink. Duties and Responsibilities These are the functions an incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to formulate ink in accordance with all levels of print difficulties, working with different flexo printing cylinders and machine applications. Operates and maintains ink mixing machine Must also maintain and file all quality control documentation and samples that are turned in from production on a daily basis and reporting any discrepancies to the Plant Manager. Responsible for the staging of ink at the machines. Assist make ready department managing the anilox roll inventory. Reads and interprets directions on the job jackets and specification sheets Performs all required color matching upon start up of special or sensitive jobs Monitors schedule and works with scheduling to insure that ink is ordered and staged in advance Cleans ink machine and surrounding area Ability to transport and stage finished goods, drums, or totes with a pallet jack, forklift, and dolly Ability to communicate with vendors both verbally and via e-mail for ordering and inventory purposes Work with customer service and sales, provide color samples for customers Retrieve daily all quality control documentation, samples and file them in order Collect, clean, and re-use all ink buckets daily Comply with all work, quality, and safety regulations and procedures Performs other duties as assigned Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions This position requires the incumbent to grasp objects utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger coordination, hand/eye and foot coordination, the utilization of color vision and depth perception. This position requires the incumbent to experience periods of prolonged standing or sitting, regularly lift, carry, walk, climb, bend, extend and reach. This position requires the incumbent to accept and understand verbal instructions. Warehouse and plant environment with exposure to cold, heat, dust, noise and fumes. This position requires the ability to use a drum dolly to transport 400 lbs drums throughout the plant and property.
