Job Description Celebrate Dyslexia Summer 2026 Internship Position: Grant & Community Engagement Intern Schedule: 40 hours per week (Full-Time Summer Internship) Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid flexibility based on project needs) About Celebrate Dyslexia Celebrate Dyslexia is a movement dedicated to shifting the narrative around dyslexia - from limitation to strength. Through advocacy, education, partnerships, and innovation, we work to ensure individuals with dyslexia are identified early, supported effectively, and celebrated for the unique ways they think and learn. We collaborate with families, educators, policymakers, and community leaders to drive systemic change and expand access to evidence-based instruction and opportunity. Position Overview The Grant & Community Engagement Intern will support Celebrate Dyslexia's development, storytelling, and outreach efforts during a season of strategic growth. This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity for a motivated student to gain meaningful experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, and mission-driven community engagement. The intern will work closely with organizational leadership and contribute directly to initiatives that expand awareness, increase funding, and strengthen community partnerships. This role is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit leadership, communications, public policy, education advocacy, philanthropy, marketing, or social impact. Key Responsibilities Grant Management & Development Support Assist in tracking grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and funder deliverables • Conduct grant prospect research and help identify new funding opportunities • Support drafting portions of grant proposals and grant reports • Maintain organized digital grant files and funding calendars • Assist with donor stewardship materials and acknowledgment processes Social Media & Design • Create compelling social media content aligned with mission campaigns and events • Develop graphics using Canva (or similar platforms) for digital promotions • Assist in building monthly content calendars • Capture photo and video content at events (as appropriate) • Track engagement metrics and recommend growth strategies Mission Promotion & Storytelling • Support development of newsletters and promotional materials • Help elevate impact stories from families, educators, and partners • Assist in preparing presentations and campaign materials • Contribute to messaging for fundraising and awareness initiatives Community Engagement • Support planning and execution of community events and awareness campaigns • Assist in outreach to corporate, nonprofit, and education partners • Help coordinate volunteers and community ambassadors • Represent Celebrate Dyslexia at select outreach events Qualifications • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (communications, nonprofit management, marketing, public policy, education, design, or related field preferred) • Strong writing and editing skills • Detail-oriented and highly organized • Comfortable using Google Workspace and social media platforms • Experience with Canva or basic design tools • Self-starter who can manage multiple projects • Passion for educational equity and systems change Preferred but not required: • Experience with grant writing or research • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising processes • Basic video editing skills • CRM or database experience What You Will Gain • Direct exposure to nonprofit development and grant management • Hands-on communications and campaign experience • Opportunity to build a professional portfolio • Mentorship from organizational leadership • Meaningful work contributing to education advocacy and systemic change Requirements Contact: Jasmin Dean
