Manual machinist

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our production team at Aircraft Technology Inc. This role is responsible for setting up and operating manual machines, as well as fabricating and assembling tooling, fixtures, and custom parts according to precise specifications. Requirements and Qualifications Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the field or a related area. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; formal apprenticeship or technical training in machining is preferred. Technical Skills:Expertise in manual machining and problem-solving. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in basic shop math and the ability to solve practical problems. Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and squat. Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, color vision, and depth perception. Schedule & Compensation Pay: Hourly rate commensurate with experience. Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Breaks: Includes two paid 15-minute breaks. Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch (employees punch out). Final candidates must successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and background check. salary: $62,400 - $83,200 per year shift: First work hours: 7:30 AM - 4 PM education: High School Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Precision Fabrication: Execute precise cuts, shapes, and drilling using manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools. Setup & Alignment: Manually set up and align tools, attachments, and workpieces using hand tools, clamps, and measuring instruments. Measurement & Quality: Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify workpieces meet strict specifications. Tool & Fixture Creation: Craft, assemble, and refine custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures, often starting from scratch. Operational Monitoring: Monitor machines for unusual sounds or vibrations and manually adjust settings, including feed rates and spindle speeds, to ensure smooth operation. Maintenance: Regularly sharpen and replace cutting tools to maintain quality standards. Calculations: Accurately calculate dimensions, angles, machine speeds, and cutting depths.
