The Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute (SHVI), in conjunction with the Levine Cancer Institute (LCI), is seeking applications for a full-time thoracic surgeon to join our Division of Thoracic Surgeryat Atrium Health in Charlotte.The Division of Thoracic Surgery providescomprehensive thoracic surgery care to patientsat three locations in the Charlotte metropolitanarea. The division is home to one of the largest thoracic robotic surgery programs in the region. About the Opportunity: Surgeon must be BC/BE in thoracic surgery and have completed an ACGME approved Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency or equivalent Should either have a current North Carolina Medical License or be eligible for application Have experience andadvanced skillsinallaspects of general thoracic surgery, including thoracic oncology, minimally invasiveVATSandthoracicroboticsurgeryas well as benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus Active participation in training of students,residentsand cardiothoracic fellows Faculty positions through Wake Forest School of Medicine Charlotte Campuscommensuratewith experience Be able to support growth of thoracic surgical volumes by providing system wide access to the highest quality, efficient and affordable care to patients across the regional network Have the ability topossessexcellent communication skills and promote a collegial approach to patient care About the Practice: Currently there are 3 Thoracic Surgeons atthreefacilities within Atrium Health and around the clock coverage byAPPsto support patient care on the units and in the OR Large tertiary referral center Great collegiality within the practice and support among other specialists and administration Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is one of the Southeast's largest cardiothoracic and vascular programs providing the highest quality care available to patients throughout North and South Carolina.
