Job description: Looking to make an impact in the affordable housing industry through modular construction? Here's your chance to join a rapidly growing, nationwide company based in metro Phoenix! Our client is building out a division solely based on modular, multifamily construction and they are in need of a Project Engineer to support the team! The Project Engineer will play a critical role in supporting project execution from preconstruction through closeout. This position ensures accurate documentation, effective coordination, and timely communication across all project phases. Project Engineers work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors to maintain schedule, budget, and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities: Assist Project Managers with day-to-day construction tasks and issue resolution. Support project buyout, contract execution, and subcontractor coordination. Review and analyze scopes, budgets, and schedules for alignment with project goals. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout documentation. Maintain organized and accessible project files using Procore, Smartsheet, and OneDrive. Record and distribute OAC and internal meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up on action items. Prepare weekly updates and reports for stakeholders. Maintain and update project schedules in Smartsheet or equivalent tools. Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of materials with vendors and subcontractors. Track and support owner and subcontractor change orders. Act as a liaison between field teams and office personnel to ensure smooth workflow. Conduct site visits to support safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Ensure approved submittals are distributed and implemented in the field. Support onboarding and training initiatives in collaboration with the Training Manager. Contribute to SOP development and implementation. Assist in compiling final documentation, warranties, and as-built records. Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Qualifications: 35 years of experience in construction project coordination or engineering. Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and best practices. Proficiency in project management tools (Procore, Smartsheet, Bluebeam). Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to learning and improvement.
