Procurement Associate (Buyer)

Procurement Associate (Buyer) Orange EV is seeking a Procurement Associate (Buyer) for its Kansas City, KS location. The Procurement Associate is responsible for working day-to-day purchasing activities and executing purchasing strategies developed by team leadership. The Procurement Associate will review demand from Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) as well as manual purchase requisitions from different internal customers and place purchase orders to the appropriate supplier. This will include quoting multiple sources and negotiating for better price breaks when buying in volume and maintaining up-to-date purchase order information as well as solving any accounting issues with such purchases. Commodities purchased by the Procurement Associate may include electrical components, motors, batteries, automotive suspension, steering, and safety components, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, fabricated metal assemblies, 3D printed parts, custom cut plastic and glass, and MRO or facilities items and services to support our operations. Position Qualifications Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities each day Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills Experience in purchasing, inventory management, or project management (1+ years) Experience using Microsoft Excel Ideal Candidates May Also Have Associate's degree Experience in a procurement role in a manufacturing environment Experience sourcing/developing new suppliers Demonstrated knowledge of negotiation techniques Knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) Knowledge of automotive components and system operations (steering, suspension, etc.) Knowledge of electrical systems and/or electric vehicles Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing Passion for clean energy technologies like electric vehicles Orange EV is an Equal Opportunity Employers and seek diversity in candidates for employment.
