Job Description

Logistician Level 1 As a Logistician Level 1, you will support property management, inventory accountability, and supply chain activities to ensure hardware assets and materials are properly tracked, maintained, and accounted for throughout their lifecycle. You will assist with inventory control, asset tracking, logistics analysis, and reporting while ensuring compliance with government property management standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to support logistics operations in a dynamic technical environment. Key Responsibilities: Support property management activities and maintain accurate records of government property and assets Complete monthly inventory reports in accordance with government guidelines Maintain inventory control processes to track property received, shipped, transferred, excessed, or relocated Update and maintain entries within the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), including Line Item Receiving Reports and transfer documentation Assist with physical inventory of assets and ensure accurate property accountability Support supply chain management processes and maintain chain of custody for hardware assets throughout their lifecycle Assist with acquisition, tracking, and oversight of hardware assets and materials necessary for operations and maintenance Analyze logistics data to help optimize resource allocation, inventory placement, transportation methods, and asset distribution Collect, process, and maintain logistics data for analysis and reporting Assist with implementing and monitoring logistics solutions and adjusting processes as needed Support the development and refinement of internal logistics analysis tools and procedures Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, technical teams, and program personnel regarding logistics activities and asset management Respond to after-hours requests when required to support a 24x7 operational environment or program service level agreements Required Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of property accounting processes and associated documentation and reporting requirements Experience working with automated inventory control systems and logistics tracking tools Experience with ordering, shipping, receiving, packaging, and material handling processes Understanding of property accountability procedures and excess property management Ability to maintain accurate asset records and inventory tracking documentation Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred Experience supporting logistics operations within large-scale enterprise IT environments preferred Education and Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience working as a Logistician or in a related logistics, supply chain, or property management role Professional experience must include property accounting processes, inventory control, material handling, and asset tracking Experience supporting large-scale enterprise IT contracts preferred Clearance Requirement: Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role Why Choose Independent Software: Support critical national security missions that matter Be part of a close-knit, employee-first culture where your voice is heard Expand your skills through ongoing training, mentorship, and career development Enjoy competitive compensation, generous benefits, and work-life balance Ready to take the next step in your career?
