Claims Coordinator The Claims Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the receipt, evaluation, and processing of incidents and potential claims. Job Responsibilities Manages the dedicated claims phone line and email, ensuring timely intake and response to potential claims. Receives and evaluates Transit Service Manager (TSM) reports, incident reports, and phone calls to determine whether a claim should be initiated. Enters incident data, photos, and reports into claims system for Third Party Administrator (TPA) review. Receives medical bills and claim documents to scan and forward to the TPA. Coordinates and manages light duty safety training program for employees. Requests documents, wage statements, photos, and videos as required for claims processing. Locates archived videos, shares with adjusters and medical providers via web call or file transfer protocol (FTP), and creates copies for attorneys. Manages claims related Subpoena and Letter of Representation response including requesting data, tracking, and supplying appropriate data to the TPA in a timely manner. Identifies potential incidents for National Transit Database (NTD) reporting. Receives and processes subrogation checks to ensure accurate reporting to accounting and the claims system. Receives all incoming mail, reviews, scans, and forwards to the TPA. Maintains claims filing of record storage and retrieval system. Manages third party Certificate of Insurance filing and retention. Assists with filing of claims documents. Assists with report creation. Provides support with data entry and filing. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent customer service skills. Broad technology experience including Origami, Safety Vision/Foresight Pro, Oracle, Microsoft Office, OneDrive and Adobe Acrobat; capability to learn and understand more complex software. Ability to effectively communicate with all Bi-State Development (BSD) departments and all levels of staff & management. Ability to plan, develop, and implement projects while promoting a teamwork environment and assimilating numerous complex projects, tasks, demands and opportunities at the same time. Evaluation skills enabling prioritization of tasks and projects. Ability to maintain confidential information about claims and employees. Compensation: 19.65 - 22.11 (Annually) Employment Type: Non-Exempt Location: Headquarters Education: High School/GED required. Some college experience in areas of business administration or related field preferred. Experience: 2 Years Customer Service, Administrative Assistance, Insurance Claims, Risk Management Certifications & Licenses:
