Job Description

Supply Technician Under general supervision, the Supply Technician prepares items for shipment including credit returns, repairs, exchanges, evaluations, or case studies. The role also coordinates shipping arrangements with freight vendors, inspects parcels for proper shipping standards, and supports Supply & Distribution services within the facility. Coordinate shipping arrangements with freight carriers for pick-ups. Communicate with freight vendors such as Federal Express, UPS, and other carriers. Inspect parcels to ensure proper preparation according to shipping and security standards (including hazardous or radioactive materials when applicable). Deliver supplies to patient care areas accurately, efficiently, and on time. Maintain adequate supply levels in patient care areas while ensuring sterility and infection control standards. Clean and maintain supply carts and equipment to ensure easy access for staff. Use proper cleaning agents and follow MSDS guidelines with appropriate PPE. Control patient charges by collecting and batching charge cards daily. Deliver STAT and non-cart items ordered through patient charging systems. Monitor inventory levels and report fluctuations to the coordinator for review. Order supplies using a hand-held computer and maintain cart supply levels through the inventory system. Receive, check, and distribute incoming supplies according to policies and procedures. Deliver stock to departments and obtain required signatures for deliveries. Maintain packing slips with signed copies for records. Respond to department calls and resolve routine supply-related issues. Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail. Perform basic maintenance on facility copiers (e.g., refilling toner, staples, ordering paper). Inspect inventory for expired items or non-sterile conditions and report issues. Recommend improvements to processes to minimize waste and improve inventory control. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as corporate policies and the Code of Ethics. Basic computer knowledge and typing ability. Strong communication skills. Approximately 6 months of experience in a warehouse, stock department, or supply receiving/requisitioning environment.
