Position Overview: We are seeking talented software engineers to join our Traffic team to develop and maintain the network infrastructure of Confluent Cloud. This role is vital for advancing our cloud networking capabilities, directly impacting our financial growth and operational efficiency. You will focus on optimizing the data plane for efficient traffic management to and from Kafka clusters. Your Responsibilities: Design and implement software that powers the Confluent Cloud network data plane, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. Take charge of software projects, delivering complex solutions focused on quality and excellence in production. Utilize open-source technologies to drive significant business impact. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within a complex technical landscape across various cloud providers, including microservices, containers, and virtualization. Your Qualifications: 2-5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure or cloud networking. Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies. Strong foundation in designing and developing distributed systems. Demonstrated experience in building and managing large-scale systems. Solid understanding of systems-level concepts including disk, network, and operating systems. Proficiency in C++, Go, Python, or other statically typed programming languages. A proactive self-starter who thrives in collaborative team environments. Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
