PLUMBER, MAINTENANCE

NIKA is hiring for a Plumber to support the Base Operations (BOS) Contract at Wright - Patterson AFB, Ohio. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Independently installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains a variety of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, domestic cold and hot water, oil, and gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, backflow prevention devices/assemblies (lab equipment only), and emergency eyewashes or showers. Plans and accomplishes work from initial layout to final assemble which involves interpreting and applying building plans, specifications, blueprints, sketches, and other plumbing guides/codes, and using shop mathematics. Uses and maintains tools such as tapes, rules, plumb bobs, hand and power pipe threads, cutters, pipe wrenches, angle drills, hacksaws and power saws, power sewer cleaning equipment, various gas detectors and meters, and lead pots. Utilizes safety Practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment. Minimum 5 years at journeyman level/or equal commercial / industrial experience is required. Must demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities gained through training and/or experience to perform the duties described above.
