GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a Diesel Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles, including recreational vehicles and commercial trucks. Your skills in running diagnostic tests, repairing engines, and ensuring vehicle safety are invaluable to our operation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide accurate and timely diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered vehicles. Conduct thorough inspections and document findings with recommended services. Meet or exceed customer expectations by delivering quality service or repairs promptly. Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines, analyze results, and provide suitable solutions. Repair or replace components such as transmissions, brakes, and engines. Respond to field visits in cases of emergency or unexpected breakdowns. Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety. Perform oil changes, wheel balancing, alignments, and brake checks as needed. Complete work orders and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Foster a collaborative environment among technicians, supporting each other's growth. Assist teammates with additional tasks, including tire installation and maintenance, to ensure outstanding customer service. Maintain a clean and organized shop to promote a safe and welcoming environment. Participate in required training programs, striving to achieve ASE certifications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Exceptional customer service skills. Strong organizational and communication capabilities. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Consistent adherence to company policies and procedures. Experience operating automotive diagnostic machines and equipment. Familiarity with diagnostic scanners is a plus. Ability to perform tasks with precision and safety. A willingness to collaborate and work in a team setting. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent is required. ASE certifications are preferred; willingness to obtain certification is mandatory. A minimum of two years of automotive repair experience is essential. Experience working on diesel-powered vehicles for at least one year is required. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift or carry items weighing at least 75 lbs. Job may require pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, climbing, and reaching. Willingness to stand or work in a crouched position for extended periods. Must be able to climb ladders or stairs and work in environments with loud noises and varying weather conditions.
