This position is responsible for the training and development of the housekeeping team, in collaboration with the Manager of Housekeeping and Housekeeping Supervisor. The inspector will adhere to all Winter Park policies, procedures, applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and health and sanitation codes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Train and coach a team of housekeeping staff members, including Core, Regular, Seasonal, and Part-Time employees. Ensure staff possess the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to perform their roles effectively and remain engaged. Demonstrate and uphold standards and procedures, including OSHA regulations, Alterra G&Os, Quality Assurance Programs, Checklists, Safety Standards, Guest Service Standards, and all company SOPs (including HotSOS and Unifocus). Conduct inspections and assessments of the physical condition of the establishment. Document inspection outcomes to hold staff accountable and use the findings for recognition and retraining. Research and implement new cleaning methods and green initiatives. Maintain knowledge of equipment and manage inventory for supplies and tools as required. Foster a safe environment for both employees and guests. Ensure effective communication with the Front Desk regarding special requests, early check-ins, late check-outs, and room assignments. Oversee that housekeeping staff adhere to established uniform and appearance standards, taking corrective action if needed. Assist as a room attendant when necessary to fulfill cleaning duties. Participate in off-season tasks, including spring and fall deep cleaning. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities may change over time as the resort and this position progress. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & moderate computer skills preferred. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience preferred. Experience in a mountain resort lodging property is preferred. Familiarity with property management systems like Springer-Miller Systems (SMS), Kronos, and/or J.D. Edwards (JDE) preferred. Communicates professionally with vendors at all times. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Most tasks performed indoors with a controlled temperature environment. Must stand and move for up to 8 hours during a typical shift. Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and manage equipment and carts weighing up to 200 lbs. Must be able to maneuver through limited spaces and travel to various floors promptly. Capable of bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching for cleaning tasks. Requires hearing, visual acuity, and manual dexterity for operating equipment. Must wear appropriate protective gear, including non-slip shoes and gloves. WAGE: The expected hourly pay range for this position is between $19.50 and $23.00. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, location, and performance. This wage is one aspect of the total compensation package that may include additional region-specific benefits.
