While many roles at Coinbase offer remote flexibility, this position requires in-person participation at various times throughout the year. We value collaboration and connection, and attendance at team-wide offsites is expected and fully supported. The CX Compliance team is critical in ensuring our global operations run efficiently, comply with regulations, and maintain high standards of resolution quality. As a Lead Compliance Analyst within the CX Compliance team, you will spearhead end-to-end Transaction Monitoring investigations for customers that may result in drafting and filing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR). Your role will also involve proactively identifying emerging risks, optimizing compliance processes, and testing new tools to ensure smooth transition into production. You will work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Financial Crime Risk Investigations, Workforce Management, and Learning & Development stakeholders, prioritizing multiple tasks with minimal guidance while remaining open to feedback for operational enhancements. Key Responsibilities: Investigations & Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of referrals and alerts from transaction monitoring systems, perform due diligence research, and assess the legitimacy of transaction activities to mitigate risks. Documentation: Document findings and create comprehensive case narratives to support investigations and recommend case decisions based on regulations and best practices. Process Improvement: Identify patterns and emerging risks to collaborate with teams in refining compliance workflows and improving operational efficiency. Tool Testing & Feedback: Act as a subject matter expert for compliance tools, testing new technology solutions and providing valuable feedback for enhancements. Knowledge Leadership: Stay updated with industry standards and apply regulatory requirements to investigations while maintaining detailed compliance documentation. What We Look For: 3-5 years of experience in financial services, crypto, or tech, focusing on compliance investigations or regulatory matters. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with Google apps and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Strategic and operational thinking with a keen eye for identifying risks and opportunities. Creative problem-solving capabilities to tackle unstructured challenges. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Transaction Monitoring workflows, including SAR filing. Project management or data analytics experience. Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI. Experience with internal and external collaboration. AML or Fraud certification (e.g., CAMS, CFCS, CFE). Advanced degree in business, finance, or customer experience. Position ID: P69552 Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,365 to $116,900 USD.
