Description Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing standardized assessments as well as observational tools. Craft tailored treatment plans designed to meet both short-term objectives and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities. Engage in one-on-one speech therapy tailored to individual needs, targeting various aspects such as communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to foster an integrated approach to patient care. Provide education to patients and their families, facilitating progress outside of therapy sessions. Assist with inpatient therapy evaluations and treatments as needed, ensuring seamless care throughout the healing process. Maintain complete and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines and organizational requirements. Remain informed on the latest advancements in speech therapy through continuous education and collaborative practice with peers. Education Possession of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment for all demographics, complemented by a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility to modify therapy techniques according to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exceptional clinical judgment coupled with adept problem-solving abilities.
