We are searching for a visionary Director of Material Project Management to lead our team in support of critical defense programs. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Defense Sector Supply Chain, this role involves managing a team of Material Project Managers and Planners who drive material strategy and operations from proposal to execution and fulfillment. Your focus will be on optimizing material project management processes across Defense programs, enhancing supplier management, material coordination, and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the Material Project Management team, creating strategies that align with sector growth and customer needs. Standardize material project management practices, focusing on supplier management and risk mitigation. Foster strong stakeholder engagement with program and manufacturing leadership to ensure alignment. Oversee and resolve critical supply chain issues and material cost/schedule challenges. Collaborate with suppliers and staff to innovate solutions in sourcing strategy, cost/value engineering, and affordability. Monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with program schedules. Develop proactive strategies to identify supplier risks and communicate them effectively to leadership. Collaborate cross-functionally to support overall program success. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related technical field. An MBA or MS with 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Manufacturing background, including experience in Procurement, Logistics, Supplier Management, and Project Management/Planning. Strong understanding of Supply Chain systems and material procurement. Experience with Earned Value Management processes. Proven ability to work collaboratively across organizations with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to thrive under tight deadlines. Knowledge of relevant regulations such as FAR, ITAR, and FCPA. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD security clearance. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in manufacturing, production control, and inventory planning. Past experience leading a Material Project Management team and standardizing procedures. Certifications in PMP or Supply Chain Engineering are a plus. Familiarity with PowerBI and Deltek Costpoint Materials Module is preferred. If you’re looking for routine, this isn’t the place for you. This is a guideline only and actual salaries may vary based on individual qualifications and market conditions.
