Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect with expertise in Data Center, Power, and Cooling, specifically for our AI Data Center Practice. In this pre-sales role, you will architect and implement innovative infrastructure solutions for both traditional and modular data centers, focusing on high-performance, energy-efficient environments that cater to AI applications. Your deep knowledge of power management, cooling systems, and AI data center operations—particularly for high-density computing and GPU-driven workflows—is essential. You will be expected to conduct site visits for planning and validation, engage in technical sales, and work closely with SHI Field Teams and key vendors to facilitate technical discussions and evaluate technology options. As a Subject Matter Expert in our Power and Cooling Center of Excellence, leverage your understanding of NVIDIA technologies and high-performance computing (HPC) platforms to design sustainable AI infrastructure solutions using advanced power alternatives and innovative cooling methods such as liquid cooling. Key Responsibilities Serve as a technical pre-sales expert for AI data center infrastructure, conducting assessments, presenting customized solutions, and providing post-sales support. Design and architect AI-optimized infrastructure for both physical and modular data centers, focusing on power efficiency, optimal cooling, and redundancy. Engage directly with customers to assess their infrastructure needs and validate solutions. Collaborate with SHI Field Teams to ensure alignment of solutions, support implementations, and drive project success. Lead technical discussions with leading and emerging vendors such as NVIDIA and Vertiv to select superior technology and products. Evaluate and recommend strategic vendors for power and cooling technologies. Utilize expertise to optimize AI environment power and cooling solutions. Contribute as an AI Subject Matter Expert within the AGT team, sharing best practices and supporting initiatives. Advocate for renewable power alternatives and energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and environmental impact. Validate and integrate liquid cooling solutions for high-density AI clusters across data center formats. Examine data centers for AI readiness, recommending necessary infrastructure upgrades. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop proofs-of-concept and deployment plans for AI projects. Stay updated on industry trends regarding sustainable power and cooling innovations. Provide training to internal teams and clients on best practices in AI data center power and cooling. Analyze performance metrics with CFD tools to optimize cooling effectiveness across various data center designs. Strong programming and scripting skills for automation and solution development. Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure components and orchestration tools for technical solutions. Ability to craft detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) to drive professional service growth. Extensive experience in large-scale IT projects, particularly design and deployment. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 5-7+ years in data center design, operations, or architecture, focusing on power and cooling. Expertise in power/cooling technologies including UPS, PDUs, generators, and liquid cooling. Deep knowledge of liquid cooling technologies for HPC and AI setups. Experience with enterprise data centers and familiar with NVIDIA DGX/GPU clusters. Strong customer engagement skills with a focus on presenting innovative solutions. Proven experience with vendor collaboration and technical evaluations. Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer interactions and site visits. Experience integrating pre-sales solutions with field implementation. In-depth understanding of data center standards and efficiency metrics. Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Flexibility for occasional travel. Preferred Skills: Certifications such as CDCP, CDCE, NVIDIA Certified Associate, or similar. Hands-on experience with thermal and power analysis simulation tools. Proficiency in creating business justification documents including TCO and ROI analysis. Knowledge of alternative energy technologies and modular data center solutions. Understanding of sustainable practices in data centers, including carbon neutrality and AI-enabled maintenance. Established relationships within vendor networks such as APC, Eaton, Schneider Electric, and others. Familiarity with energy efficiency regulations and environmental standards for data centers. The estimated annual compensation for this role ranges from $180,000 to $280,000, including base salary and bonuses. Compensation is based on individual qualifications and market factors.
