Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Department Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws as well as corporate policies. This role focuses on enhancing the financial performance of the pharmacy by managing the budget, training and developing staff, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will have the opportunity to promote corporate-approved clinical services and embody the values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Key Responsibilities: Perform the roles of a staff pharmacist and set a positive example for the pharmacy team by effectively managing customer inquiries and streamlining workflows to minimize wait times. Develop and implement sales initiatives to drive growth and achieve sales targets as outlined by the pharmacy division. Ensure all pharmacy responsibilities are carried out in accordance with both legal standards and company policies. Direct the pharmacy team toward achieving inventory goals and sustainable practices by promoting effective ordering and record-keeping procedures. Adhere to corporate-controlled substance operating procedures meticulously. Monitor third-party profitability and address issues such as rejections and audits swiftly and professionally. Schedule pharmacy staff strategically to manage labor costs and optimize efficiency. Maintain accurate pharmacy records in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and company policies. Guide the pharmacy to meet budgetary goals in labor, volume, inventory, and sales. Engage with local healthcare providers to promote pharmacy services effectively. Support community health initiatives and participate actively in disease management services. Travel independently as required to attend to business needs and support pharmacy operations. Provide guidance and mentorship to pharmacy staff, conducting performance reviews and offering constructive feedback. Display the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Manage conflicts with diplomacy and cooperation. Demonstrate integrity and honesty while handling customer and business information. Follow directions readily and seek help as necessary to resolve business or customer issues. Deliver exceptional support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction. Fulfill all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy. A minimum of 2 years of related retail experience or a comparable combination of education and experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Current pharmacist license in good standing. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and related documents. Aptitude for writing routine reports and correspondence. Strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Capacity to maintain the confidentiality of information. A willingness to pursue ongoing education as required. Engagement in clinical programs following company-sponsored training. Desired: Relevant pharmacy board certifications. Experience in business management or equivalent education and experience.
