Job Title: Avionics Technician Location: Hagerstown, MD 21742 Employment Type: Contract (1+ year) with potential for permanent hire Shift: Normal Business Hours (Monday-Friday) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team in Hagerstown, MD. In this role, you will perform avionics maintenance in compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. You will be responsible for installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics components, as well as maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals. Key Responsibilities Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components. Interpret and work from technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals. Route wires and perform wiring repairs per technical drawings. Maintain and calibrate test equipment and tools. Ensure compliance with FAA and FCC standards and company policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. 10+ years of relevant avionics experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Advanced skills in avionics installation, wiring, soldering, and crimping techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints. Must have own tools in good working order. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL certifications. Experience mentoring or guiding junior technicians. Knowledge of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and pitot-static equipment. Background in aerospace, defense, or U.S. military environments. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Physical Requirements Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs. Manual dexterity for repetitive hand and arm motions. Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs occasionally. Vision and hearing abilities for detailed work and safety compliance. Working Conditions Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, rain, snow). Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and loud noise. Safety-sensitive position involving hazardous materials and aviation duties.
