Position Purpose: As a Shuttle Driver, you will be essential to our operations, transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations while delivering full trailers to designated shuttle yard locations. You will drive tandem and tractor trailers, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring safe and timely deliveries. This role requires professional interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers, contributing to a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspect vehicles according to DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Report all safety issues and necessary repairs. Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines, reporting any hazards immediately. Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight. Ensure all necessary route paperwork is available upon dispatch. Drive and deliver trailers according to a predetermined route schedule. Properly perform hook/unhook procedures according to safety guidelines. Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas. Secure all equipment and freight at all times. Collect secured damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers and complete necessary paperwork for check-in. Unload equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required. Maintain accurate daily logs of hours of service in accordance with DOT, state, and company requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties within the tractor, loading dock, and keep trailers clear and clean as needed. Execute additional duties as assigned to support the organization. Qualifications: Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement 12 months of commercial driving experience High school diploma/GED or equivalent Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements Must be at least 21 years old Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Possess a valid DOT Health Card or be able to obtain one Able to lift and move product cases/freight ranging from 10-90 pounds, utilizing appropriate equipment About Us: Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group, is a prominent distributor that partners with diverse local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
