Virtual Behavioral Health Counselor Pathways to Wellness Position Summary Pathways to Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Virtual Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor to provide exceptional care to clients throughout Tennessee. We offer opportunities for both in-person and virtual therapy, with our offices located in Cordova and Clarksville, Tennessee. This role requires an independent license in the state of Tennessee. Our ideal candidate is comfortable delivering services virtually and is committed to high-quality, client-focused outpatient counseling. The therapist is responsible for upholding safety protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to all relevant professional, ethical, state, and federal standards. Keeping your Tennessee licensure and CPR certification current is essential. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide individual, family, and group therapy as needed through secure virtual platforms. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to inform diagnoses and treatment planning via secure virtual platforms. Develop and regularly update individualized treatment plans in accordance with state and licensing requirements using secure virtual platforms. Coordinate discharge planning to ensure continuity of care for clients transitioning to other services or levels of care through secure virtual platforms. Refer clients to primary care providers, specialists, and community agencies as appropriate using secure virtual platforms. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record through secure virtual platforms. Client Support & Collaboration Create a therapeutic environment that fosters safety, trust, and high-quality care for clients and their families through secure virtual platforms. Collaborate with internal team members and external referral sources to promote client progress through secure virtual platforms. Participate in scheduled staff, clinical, and treatment team meetings as required using secure virtual platforms. Professional Practice Enhance professional competence through ongoing education and training. Practice in accordance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines to safeguard client privacy. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity in all interactions. Support compliance with accreditation and certification standards. Understand CPT and ICD10 coding and clinical documentation. Additional Responsibilities Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills in all professional interactions. Maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and community partners. Exercise independent judgment and initiative while adhering to policy guidelines. Engage in problem-solving and clinical collaboration with colleagues and leadership as necessary. Be comfortable with virtual service delivery. Required Knowledge Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA and related accreditation standards. Knowledge of best practices in behavioral health assessment and care coordination. Understanding of principles regarding program planning, clinical documentation, and professional ethics. Proficient in using technology, including various software and applications. Skills & Abilities Strong skills in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions. Ability to maintain precise records and manage caseload effectively. Capacity to recognize and address clinical or procedural challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient in organization, time management, and exercising independent judgment. Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Education & Experience Requirements LCSW, LPC-MHSP, or another related Tennessee licensure. At least 1 year of experience providing counseling services in behavioral health or mental health settings (outpatient experience preferred).
