Join Our Team as a Manager of IT Operations! Position Overview: GAP Solutions is thrilled to invite a skilled and passionate IT Operations Manager to our expanding corporate IT team. This is a remarkable opportunity for a hands-on technical leader with expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and networking to drive significant improvements in our IT landscape. You will play a vital role in overseeing daily IT operations, leading key projects, ensuring system reliability, and enhancing our services to align with business objectives. Enjoy the flexibility of remote work while collaborating in person at our Herndon, VA headquarters twice a month. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor IT team members, conduct performance reviews, and promote skill development. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily IT operations to ensure high system availability, reliability, and security. Troubleshooting and Escalation: Serve as a key escalation point for complex technical challenges. Vendor Management: Build and maintain vendor relationships, monitor their performance, and resolve issues to ensure effective IT service delivery. Budget Oversight: Manage the IT budget efficiently to control costs and optimize expenditures. Project Management: Lead and execute IT projects from planning to completion, including cloud transformations and infrastructure upgrades. Prioritize projects based on business necessities and timelines. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and manage project schedules and scope changes. Monitor project progress, risks, and dependencies while providing consistent updates. Cloud & Collaboration Management: Optimize Microsoft Azure environments, focusing on identity, compute, networking, and security aspects. Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and Entra ID. Support cloud migration initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency. Networking & Infrastructure Management: Manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless connectivity. Ensure secure and reliable connections in both on-premise and cloud environments. Engage with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and managed services. Security & Compliance: Reduce risks by implementing and maintaining cybersecurity best practices. Ensure compliance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC standards across all systems. Oversee vulnerability assessments, patching, and incident response measures. Lead compliance audits and enforce established policies. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive IT experience with leadership or management roles. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and routing/switching. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365, etc.) Project Management certifications (PMP, CAPM, Agile/Scrum) Networking or security certifications (Cisco, CompTIA Network+, Security+) Experience managing hybrid or cloud-first environments. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
