ABOUT Medical emergencies can arise unexpectedly, and we're looking for individuals who can take decisive action when they do. Whether in a hospital, clinical setting, on a ship, a submarine, or in the field alongside fellow service members, you'll use advanced medical training to save lives. You will be entrusted with the care of brave individuals dedicated to serving our nation. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency medical treatment to military personnel like SEALs, Marines, and Seabees in various situations. Administer emergency dental treatments, including the construction of dental crowns and bridges, and operate X-ray equipment. Assist in general and specialized surgeries as an operating room technician. Administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, including immunizations and intravenous fluids. Maintain patient treatment records, conduct research, and perform clinical tests. ADVANCED OPPORTUNITIES For those pursuing roles in the advanced technical field, you will work in challenging conditions that demand exceptional medical skills: Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC): Deliver advanced medical care for Marine forces during high-stakes operations. Search and Rescue Medical Technician (SMT): Provide emergency care during helicopter missions and support various evacuation operations. Deep Sea Diving Medical Technician (DMT): Assist medical officers in managing diving-related health issues and operate sophisticated diving equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT As a Medical Emergency Response Specialist, you'll experience a wide range of work environments. You could be stationed at a military hospital, a clinic, or aboard an aircraft carrier. You will collaborate with other medical professionals, preparing you to be an effective first responder, whether on-site or in more remote areas. TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT After basic training at Boot Camp, you will attend a 14-week program at Fort Sam Houston, TX, where you'll learn essential techniques in patient care and emergency response. Normal color perception, vision correctable to 20/20, and eligibility for security clearance. Under 28 years old and commitment to a minimum 6-year enlistment. Satisfactory completion of a Physical Screening Test (PST).
