Junior Mechanical Cost Estimator

Position Summary: This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals with a background in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to embark on a rewarding career path in Project Management or Outside Sales. You will begin by learning to quote our standard offerings and quickly advance to handle custom applications. We emphasize a collaborative team approach to problem-solving throughout our organization. Daily activities will include: Receiving and organizing formal RFQs from Customers or Outside Sales into comprehensive quote files. Accurately interpreting technical specifications and drawings. Collaborating with Applications and various departments to prepare formal quotes and drawings. Effectively communicating with vendors to obtain pricing for unique components. Preparing material and labor estimates using our quoting system (training provided). Generating formal quotes through the quoting system. Submitting formal quotes to Customers or Outside Sales through various channels. Tracking quotes and performing necessary follow-ups. Basic Requirements: A Mechanical Engineer or Designer with 3-5 years of experience in any mechanical field. Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel. Able to manage personal workloads effectively to meet shifting quote deadlines. Comfortable engaging with customers, vendors, and team members. Preferred Experience: Familiarity with AutoCAD (2D and/or 3D). Experience in conveyor or custom equipment manufacturing. Basic knowledge of Industrial Controls. The salary range will be determined based on the applicant's experience.
