Operations Control Specialist Full-time, Permanent On-Site Location: Demopolis, AL Join us in making a significant difference! Your Role: As an Operations Control Specialist, you will utilize HMI tools to monitor incoming fiber, manage drying processes, produce pellets, and coordinate their movement into railcars. It's essential to monitor and address any safety-related concerns, communicating directly with plant employees or the Plant Leadership team. Your Responsibilities Include: Upkeep of Drax's high housekeeping standards across the department with all team members' involvement. Using SDS for all chemicals, ensuring all employees are thoroughly trained in their use. Completing all safety-related training as required by the Plant Operator Development Program. Participating actively in communication via company radios, adhering to the Radio Usage Procedure. Maintaining clear and concise radio communication, focused on essential instructions and information. Engaging in the Drax OH&S Committee for safety improvement initiatives. Leading communication with all employees during the pellet manufacturing process, promoting compliance with safety, production, quality, and operational policies. Keeping composure while guiding and directing employees during emergencies or unsafe conditions. Troubleshooting and providing direction for both minor and major operational upsets. Offering technical training support and mentorship to peers and individuals in the Plant Operator Development Program. Participating in training on mobile equipment and hazard identification. Contributing to incident investigations and safety improvements. Coordinating holiday planning to ensure continuous coverage in essential plant positions. Liaising with Drax management, including HR, Safety, Training, and Senior Executives. Leading and directing plant employees in the safe operation of all equipment used in pellet production, monitoring key metrics like moisture, temperatures, and motor amps. Adjusting fiber mixes and directing Loader Operators based on fiber types and moisture content. Monitoring and analyzing the HMI system consistently. Reviewing notes with cross-shift Operators at shift changes regarding fiber mixes and equipment efficiencies. Coordinating with Loader Operators and Production Team Leads to meet fiber needs for continuous production. Addressing housekeeping needs to maintain cleanliness and reduce dust accumulation. Conducting moisture content testing and reporting as required. Communicating loading requirements and mix specifications to staff for rail car loading. Who You Are: You have the following skills, abilities, and experience: Competent in the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment. Capable of completing forms and checklists for cleanup and rail car loading. Flexible to adapt to changing work schedules or tasks. A team player with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in heavy industry operations is advantageous. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Good mechanical aptitude. A valid driver's license. Why Work with Us?
