Your Role as a Tax Preparation Specialist As a Tax Preparation Specialist at H&R Block, you will receive comprehensive training from a knowledgeable team dedicated to ensuring your success. Enjoy the flexibility, freedom, and potential for extra earnings while contributing in a way that fits your lifestyle. Conduct engaging tax interviews with clients in person, or through virtual platforms such as video, phone, or chat. Accurately prepare and file complete tax returns. Drive business growth by increasing client retention and offering additional services. Provide essential IRS support to clients as needed. Collaborate with team members to achieve office goals. Continuously expand your tax knowledge and skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Experience in customer service or a retail environment. A background in fast-paced work settings. Availability to work between 25-35 hours weekly during the tax season, with the potential for up to 40 hours during peak periods. What You Bring to Our Team Successful completion of H&R Block's Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Comfort using virtual communication tools effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Meeting all IRS and applicable state requirements. A high school diploma or equivalent education.
