Job Description About the Role We are on the lookout for a talented Senior Full Stack Engineer with hands-on expertise to join our dynamic AI Lifecycle Team. This team plays a crucial role in enhancing the user experience and developing innovative visualization products that Machine Learning Engineers use to navigate the journey from data collection to model deployment in autonomous vehicles. You will be pivotal in assisting MLEs at Cruise to execute and debug machine learning pipelines, initiate data collection, manage model training, evaluate model performance, and deploy models to autonomous vehicles. What You'll Do: Create UX experiences and workflows designed to enhance MLE productivity. Develop backend integrations for a cohesive experience throughout the ML lifecycle. Elevate standards for system observability, debug capabilities, operational excellence, and user experience. Lead the design and architecture of an ecosystem compliant with security and standards. Define performance metrics for platform health and construct a roadmap for scalability and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, and architect UX and backend integrations ensuring data quality across engineering teams. Engage across all project phases: requirements gathering, design, prototyping, implementation, review, release, and monitoring. Review and approve technical design documents and code submissions. Refine documentation and development processes. Challenge the norm and pursue innovative approaches to technology. Mentor and develop technical talent within the team and assist in recruitment efforts. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Proven experience in building, deploying, and managing high-availability services. Experience leading significant technical projects from concept through implementation and continuous enhancement. Ability to identify broad technical challenges and translate them into actionable initiatives. Expertise in creating foundational enterprise and systems architecture, as well as integration standards. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Go. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, automation, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment solutions. Experience in developing production-level frontend applications using frameworks like React or Angular. Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and core frontend technologies. A genuine enthusiasm for technology, with an eagerness to explore how new advancements can benefit the business. BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or equivalent experience. What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications): Experience with web services, JSON, GraphQL, and agentic workflows. Track record of developing interactive tools that enhance day-to-day operations. Familiarity with data science and visualization techniques. Knowledge of machine learning or experimental design principles. Self-driven, with a focus on execution and delivering impactful results. Excellent communication abilities to navigate conflicts, foster consensus, convey risks, and offer constructive feedback. Compensation: The compensation mentioned is a good faith estimate and may vary based on location and other factors. The salary range for this role is $218,800-$335,300, with actual figures depending on relevant factors. Bonus Potential: You may be eligible for performance-based incentive pay. This role allows for remote work, but if you are located within a specified distance from a GM hub, you may need to report to the office three times a week or as directed by your manager.
