The Meta Data Center Engineering team strives for innovation, reliability, safety, and efficiency, propelling Meta's mission to create the future of human connection through technology. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design of new data center products that integrate cutting-edge technologies while balancing cost efficiency and sustainability. Oversee data center product controls systems strategies, including design, specifications, programming, and support for new product launches. Collaborate closely with Sustainability, CSLA, Electrical, Connectivity, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to optimize product designs for cost, speed, efficiency, and flexibility. Work with cross-functional teams on prefabricated solutions and component offerings to enhance our new product designs. Research industry standards and trends to inform long-term strategies and present viable recommendations. Collaborate with the Site Selection team on site evaluations and master planning projects. Engage with design engineers and field teams to ensure correct application of new design types in various projects. Manage change processes related to applicable systems and drive timely resolutions. Work with various teams to evaluate and validate design solutions. Ensure design schedules and construction milestones are met by coordinating with relevant teams. Conduct regular check-ins with direct reports to provide guidance, feedback, and support in overcoming challenges. Support the development of career path plans for your team members. Align priorities among technical leads and manage project prioritization based on an agreed framework. Track team goals and adapt them in response to evolving business needs. Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience. At least fifteen years of experience in engineering, design, and R&D for mission-critical systems. Cross-disciplinary knowledge in data center technical systems including mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent communication skills for interfacing with all levels of the organization and various stakeholders. Experience managing large projects and leading project teams. Proficient in coordinating consultant and contractor teams. Experience with new builds, retrofits, and operational facilities. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex projects under pressure. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Engineering (MS, PhD). Professional Engineer registration. Experience with cost estimating methodologies, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI. Knowledge of design and manufacturing processes related to data center systems. Experience applying systems engineering principles in R&D projects. Experience with large and complex data centers, including campus systems design. Familiarity with domestic and international standards and building codes for cooling systems.
