The Opportunity Our national Sales and Use Tax Lookback Review COE is at the forefront of executing large multi-state sales and use tax recovery projects for our top-tier clients. Here, you'll gain extensive experience managing diverse projects and client relationships, while absorbing new skills and responsibilities. With dedicated mentors and comprehensive training programs in place, your professional development is our priority. Your Key Responsibilities No two days will be the same. As a Senior Indirect Tax Expert, you will engage in a variety of tasks, ensuring timely tax advice for your clients. Collaboration is key, and sharing information effectively will amplify our success. Investigate clients' business operations to build enduring relationships. Identify relevant sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions applicable to clients. Detect potential overpayment opportunities or risks and communicate findings to clients. Stay informed of current tax law changes to maintain your status as a trusted advisor. Develop comprehensive plans for executing sales and use tax recoveries. Prepare and defend refund claims for sales and use tax. Guide and mentor a team of motivated professionals to help them realize their full potential. To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Professional knowledge of a comprehensive range of sales and use tax processes and concepts. A successful track record in a professional services or tax organization. Experience with technical writing and research in tax contexts. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple complex projects efficiently. Exceptional influencing abilities and the confidence to challenge established processes. Willingness to travel as needed, with a balanced hybrid working environment. Ideally, You'll Also Have: An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, or certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or eligibility to sit for a state bar. The base salary range for this role is $81,700 to $135,000, which varies by location and qualifications.
