The PICC RN/Vascular Access Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality vascular access services to patients. This position demands expertise and adherence to professional standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform bedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). Carry out bedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters. Facilitate bedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters. Establish access through intravascular ports. Conduct thorough assessment and evaluation of patients with vascular access devices. Education and Support: Provide clear education to patients and family members on upcoming procedures. Address any questions related to the procedures. Offer training and support to staff as needed. Documentation: Ensure all procedures are documented clearly following client and company policy. Qualifications: Must hold a valid RN license. Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required. Completion of a vascular access competency skills checklist. Strong communication skills and a focus on patient/client needs. Demonstrated personal effectiveness and credibility. Work Environment: This position involves working in various healthcare settings and may require travel between client facilities. You will utilize portable ultrasound equipment, medical supplies, mobile devices, and computers throughout your day.
