Job Description Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is on the lookout for a Senior Principal Software Developer to be part of our Networking organization, with a dedicated focus on DDoS and Network Security. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience in building, scaling, and operating distributed systems or cloud infrastructure. Solid understanding of network technologies or security principles, with a keen interest in advancing your expertise. Proficient in one or more major programming languages (such as Go, Java, C++, Python), particularly in systems engineering contexts. Able to navigate ambiguity, spearhead complex technical initiatives, and collaborate seamlessly across teams. Proven track record in producing high-quality designs and technical documentation. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing security, networking, or large-scale cloud solutions. Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and operational tools for highly available services. Involvement with open-source technologies or community contributions. Noteworthy contributions to the technology field (e.g., publications, open source, patents). Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and relentless enhancement of distributed systems that bolster the security and resilience of OCI's networking services. Drive the creation of L4 and L7 protection services, including DDoS mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions to counter diverse network and application-layer threats. Analyze trends in network architecture and the evolving threat landscape to guide system design and enhancements. Champion improvements in system scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders across product, security, operations, and engineering teams to deliver visible and impactful solutions. Define, document, and disseminate architectural strategies, technical best practices, and operational processes. Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the organization. Cultivate a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle. May include bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
