What you will be doing: As part of Verizon Global Infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced Enterprise Network Architect to lead the planning and design of our application delivery and naming services architecture across the enterprise. This pivotal role is integral in our network transformation, focusing on the integration of DNS, local load balancing, and global traffic management into a reliable, high-availability framework. Enterprise Architecture Design: Develop and define the enterprise-wide architecture for DNS, Citrix Load Balancing, and Global Service Load Balancing (GSLB), ensuring strict alignment with business objectives for availability and fault resilience. Network Transformation: Provide architectural oversight for global network initiatives, drive cloud adoption, optimize traffic management, and represent the networking team in cross-functional design sessions aligning infrastructure with application requirements. Strategic Planning: Establish technical standards, roadmaps, and best practices for naming services and load balancing to ensure high scalability and performance across the infrastructure. Design & Innovation: Lead the creation of highly resilient application delivery solutions and conduct Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to validate new capabilities. Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with IT leadership and teams across applications, security, and cloud to integrate complete solution designs and align strategies with digital transformation goals. Vendor Management: Assess and recommend network vendors and technologies, ensuring they meet enterprise resiliency and performance standards while fostering strong vendor relationships to enhance features/functionality. Operational Excellence: Lead the development of implementation plans and migration strategies to ensure minimal disruption, while possessing full technical knowledge of the network. Team Development: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders, developing strong engineering standards and documentation for certified products. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant experience. Eight or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work or military experience, or specialized training. Experience in enterprise network architecture and application delivery. New technology development and testing experience. Experience with DNS (Infoblox/BIND), Citrix ADC (NetScaler), and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in large-scale networking in Fortune 100 enterprise environments. Background in leading digital transformation initiatives focused on hybrid-cloud connectivity and application resiliency. Hands-on experience designing high-availability (HA) architectures and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native load balancing models. Strong understanding of network protocols and industry standards (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS). Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to executives and application stakeholders. Industry certifications such as CCIE, Citrix Certified Expert (CCE-N), or cloud-specific networking certifications are advantageous. Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and collaborative. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
