Board Certified Perfusionist - San Francisco, CACLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking experienced Board Certified Perfusionists for on-site contract positions at a federal medical center in San Francisco, California. This is an exceptional opportunity for seasoned perfusion professionals to serve veterans and contribute to life-saving cardiovascular surgical programs.Position OverviewWe are hiring two on-site perfusionists and one on-call perfusionist to support a high-volume cardiovascular surgery program. You will operate heart-lung machines, manage extracorporeal circulation, and provide critical perfusion services during open heart surgery, ECMO, IABP, and autotransfusion procedures.Key Responsibilities- Conduct all cardiopulmonary bypass procedures for adult and pediatric cardiac surgery cases- Manage and operate ECMO circuits, IABP, and ventricular assist devices- Perform autotransfusion (cell salvage) services during surgical procedures- Monitor and maintain physiological parameters during extracorporeal circulation- Prepare, calibrate, and prime heart-lung machines prior to each case- Document all perfusion records accurately and completely- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education- Maintain and troubleshoot all perfusion equipment- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teamsRequired Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited perfusion technology program- CCP (Certified Clinical Perfusionist) certification through ABCP (American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion)- Minimum 3 years of continuous certified perfusion experience- Minimum 1,000 documented clinical perfusion cases- Current BLS and ACLS certifications- Current, unrestricted state license (if applicable)- Open heart surgery and cardiopulmonary bypass experience- ECMO, IABP, and autotransfusion proficiency- Clean professional malpractice historyPreferred Qualifications- 10+ years of clinical perfusion experience- CAT (Certified Autotransfusionist) certification through ABCP- Experience in a federal healthcare setting- Proficiency with electronic health record systems- Experience mentoring junior perfusionistsCompensation- Independent Contractor: $104 - $126 per hour (commensurate with experience)- Malpractice insurance coverage provided- Professional development and continuing education support- Relocation assistance considered for exceptional candidatesAbout CLFC Healthcare & CommunicationsCLFC Healthcare & Communications is a Small Disadvantaged Business specializing in healthcare staffing and language access services.
