Job Description: Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedic Spine & Pain Management / Neuro Overview: We are excited to welcome a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Orthopedic Spine & Pain Management or Neurology to our dynamic healthcare team. We are looking for someone with a robust clinical background to enhance the care of patients suffering from spine disorders, chronic pain, or neurological conditions. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care that encompasses diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up, all aimed at improving patient outcomes and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Conduct thorough assessments, including patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic tests. Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions associated with the spine, pain management, or neurological disorders. Develop and execute personalized treatment plans that include pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and pain management specialists, to deliver holistic care. Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary and providing ongoing education and support. Procedural Duties: Perform minor procedures related to pain management, such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections, with supervision as needed. Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients to ensure optimal recovery. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to effectively manage symptoms. Advise on pain management strategies, including medication adherence, physical therapy, and behavioral techniques. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with supervising physicians to maintain continuity of care and adherence to best practices. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to coordinate care and resolve concerns. Documentation and Compliance: Keep accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR), adhering to legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards. Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in orthopedic spine, pain management, and neurology through ongoing education and training. Participate in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to enhance clinical skills and knowledge. Qualifications: Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Family Practice, Adult-Gerontology, or a related specialty. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedic spine, pain management, or neurology. Experience with minor procedures related to pain management is a plus. Licensure/Certification: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Skills and Abilities: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a clinical environment. May involve exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. Requires standing, walking, and the ability to move patients or equipment.
