Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHuntington University Arizona is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach PY111 Introduction to Psychology for the spring semester. PY111 is a 3-credit undergraduate course designed to introduce students to the scientific study of behavior and mental processes.This course surveys major principles, methods, and findings in psychology, including development, learning and memory, biological bases of behavior, cognition, social and personality psychology, motivation and emotion, mental health, and ethical practice. Students are also introduced to psychological research methods and the application of psychology through a Christian worldviewCOURSE OVERVIEWPY111 emphasizes: Foundational psychological concepts and terminologyScientific reasoning and interpretation of psychological researchActive student engagement through discussions, applied activities, and research labsIntegration of psychology with ethical practice and a Christian worldview Instruction includes lectures, discussion, quizzes, research lab activities, and a comprehensive final exam, with readings delivered through Perusall and MoodleMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Master’s degree in psychology or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience)Teaching experience or demonstrated potential for effective college-level instructionSupportive of a Christian faith environment and the mission of Huntington UniversityEnjoys engaging students through interactive and discussion-based teaching THE ADJUNCT PROFESSOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Teaching PY111 in accordance with the university catalog, course syllabus, and departmental guidelinesPreparing course materials, assessments, and grading student work in a timely mannerProviding a course syllabus to students and the division office as requestedMaintaining accurate student records and required academic documentationCommunicating promptly and professionally with students, faculty, and staffSupporting student engagement, ethical academic practices, and inclusive classroom learningPerforming other related duties as assigned General Information: Huntington University is an independent, Christian liberal arts university.
