Job Description As a Senior Software Engineer within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Media Services team, you'll tackle technical challenges while contributing to the development and operation of cloud services for innovative consumer video applications. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on redefining the streaming experience, enhancing audience engagement, and creating new revenue opportunities through cloud-native technology. Your role will involve designing scalable, real-time systems that enable intelligent content delivery, dynamic interactivity, and monetization—all utilizing globally distributed infrastructure. You will work together with a talented team of developers in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. We are looking for a proactive individual with a solid track record in developing and operating enterprise-class cloud services, especially in media and video services. This role emphasizes not only technical skills but also refined soft skills for effective teamwork. Responsibilities Design, implement, validate, and document components of a distributed, service-oriented architecture focused on availability, scalability, observability, and testability. Ensure the automated and reliable deployment of services end-to-end, including foundational infrastructure and required dependencies. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, driving compliance and innovation within the organization. Launch new cloud services and promote operational excellence. Collaborate with architects and technical leads to refine and realize the technical vision of the team. Work effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams. Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes, and best practices. Qualifications BS in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software development experience using modern programming languages, with prior experience in Java and/or Go being a significant advantage. Proven experience in large-scale software development for cloud services and distributed systems. Background in video streaming, real-time communications, or social networking systems is a plus. Experience in developing, deploying, and operating highly scalable cloud microservices using Kubernetes. Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, identity, network, storage) and deployment automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or similar). Familiarity with building and maintaining highly available services in a DevOps environment, with established processes for maintaining quality, including failure root cause analysis. Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
