Posting Date 03/04/26 Application Deadline 03/18/26 Pay Range $16.00 hourly Job Type Temporary Department Transportation About the Position The Construction Management Intern is a summer internship opportunity with the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) and its various Divisions, including Roadway Maintenance, Engineering, Construction and Materials, Transportation Systems Management & Operations, and Strategic Communications and Outreach. The intern will rotate through the various subject matters and report to a variety of locations throughout Maricopa County and on the MCDOT Durango campus. Proud to Offer Work with a greater purpose Opportunities to learn about maintaining work-life balance in a professional setting Providing valuable insight into public sector construction Learn more at Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Currently enrolled in a sophomore or upper-level undergraduate or graduate program in the field of Construction or other related fields We Also Value OSHA 30 Card Previous experience with roadway construction Classroom training in construction safety Job Contributions Work with field supervision in the Construction and Materials Division, providing support on current, active Transportation Improvement Projects Conduct project close-out inspections and document information Assist with confirming and documenting daily materials and construction progress quantification Observe and conduct field inspections related to pavement preservation, including timing, materials, and applications Review job order contracts and plans Assist with writing work assignments for job order contracting Review and verify traffic control plans Complete micro-learning sessions with all MCDOT Divisions, including those that provide support functions for MCDOT projects, during a one-week rotation Working Conditions This position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
