Join Our Caring Community and Prioritize Health The Behavioral Health Program Director is pivotal in shaping behavioral health strategies across the organization, developing best practices to enhance member outcomes. This role encompasses a wide range of challenges, from moderate to substantial complexity. The ideal candidate is capable of working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Position Overview: This strategic position focuses on developing and enhancing behavioral health programs tailored to meet the needs of Medicaid plan members within South Carolina. This requires a thorough understanding of behavioral health quality measures and principles, as well as strong engagement with providers and stakeholders to advocate for policies that enhance integrated care delivery. The Director will work hand-in-hand with the Health Services Director, Chief Medical Officer, and a variety of stakeholders to create innovative products and services within our Medicaid behavioral health delivery model. Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine behavioral health programs that align with evidence-based practices and comply with both local and federal regulations. Analyze trends and data in behavioral health services to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Apply knowledge of behavioral health quality measures to guide program development and enhance outcomes for members. Collaborate with Medical Directors and Clinical Leaders to implement effective population health strategies. Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and policymakers to promote holistic behavioral health approaches. Act as a subject matter expert on behavioral health policies, advocating for changes that support integrated mental health and substance use disorder services. Engage in initiatives that raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues. Utilize data analytics to assess program effectiveness, generate reports, and communicate results to leadership and stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Residency in South Carolina is required. Active, unrestricted licensure as a Behavioral Health Professional in South Carolina (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PMHNP-BC, QMHP, Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or other clinical licenses in behavioral health). At least five years of experience as a behavioral health practitioner. A minimum of two years in a leadership role overseeing behavioral healthcare operations. Strong knowledge of the managed care industry and Medicaid, particularly South Carolina's behavioral health landscape. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with healthcare providers and community stakeholders. Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with experience in data reporting and program evaluation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medicaid Managed Care clinical or behavioral health leadership, including hiring and training responsibilities. Familiarity with accreditation standards and contract compliance. Additional Information: Workstyle: This is a remote position. Location: Columbia, South Carolina. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Travel: Less than 25% of travel, primarily within South Carolina. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation: The salary range for this position is $115,200 - $158,400 per year, and this job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance.
