The Senior Alterations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring all fittings and alterations meet David's Bridal's high standards and reports directly to the Store Manager. This position requires a friendly demeanor, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a member of the store team, you will exemplify the values of the David's Bridal brand. Essential Job Functions: Welcome all customers with genuine enthusiasm, both over the phone and in person. Clearly communicate to meet customer needs and resolve any conflicts promptly. Increase customer loyalty by proactively reaching out for appointment scheduling; focus is 80% on Bridal and 30% on Dress. Act as Floor Manager during busy sales periods, offering fitting consultations and alterations guidance. Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers on gown fitting and customization, highlighting the importance of alterations to perfect the dress for their event. Lead all aspects of alterations, including fittings, sewing, steaming, and pressing, while ensuring the company’s quality standards are meticulously followed. Maintain strict quality control by inspecting all altered garments to guarantee they are in pristine condition before delivery to customers. Train and mentor Alterations Specialists in advanced fitting and sewing techniques. Ensure ongoing product education for all team members within the alterations department. Communicate daily achievement of sales goals to the Store Manager. Utilize approved systems and processes to manage customer flow and deliver an outstanding 5 Star Customer Experience. Uphold high dress code standards personally and throughout the team. Physical Demands: This position requires standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods, as well as reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity for close work and distance, as well as peripheral vision, is essential to ensure quality in all tasks. Education & Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Prior sewing experience is a must, ideally within a bridal or special occasion environment. 1-2 years of retail experience in an apparel or specialty store setting is preferred.
