Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician, where your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting our mining operations. This position is perfect for skilled professionals eager to elevate their career in a demanding, production-oriented setting. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heavy-duty mining equipment, focusing on renowned brands such as Caterpillar (Cat), Hitachi, and Komatsu. Your technical skills will help minimize equipment downtime and maintain high safety standards in challenging field conditions. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy mining equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and excavators. Conduct regular maintenance and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry regulations and optimal equipment performance. Replace and repair components according to OEM specifications while focusing on Cat, Hitachi, and Komatsu systems. Maintain detailed service records and effectively communicate equipment status to supervisors and operations teams. Operate tools and equipment safely, adhering strictly to safety protocols and environmental standards. Collaborate with fellow mechanics and site personnel to prioritize and streamline repair processes, reducing equipment downtime in support of our production objectives. Qualifications: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, ideally in mining or similar industrial settings. A technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment technology, or a related field is desirable. Solid working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools. Experience with Cat, Hitachi, and Komatsu equipment is highly preferred. MSHA Part 48 certification for metal/nonmetal mining (training available if certification needs to be obtained or renewed). Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract. Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Working Conditions: Scheduled 5 days on, 4 days off, with 12-hour shifts that may alternate between day and night. Overtime pay applies after 40 hours, compensated at time and a half. Living out allowance may be offered to eligible candidates. Comprehensive Extended Health & Wellness Benefits provided.
