Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Supervisor to lead the day-to-day field installation, service, and commissioning of electrical systems on commercial and industrial projects. In this pivotal role, you will plan work schedules, assign tasks to a crew, ensure adherence to code compliance, and collaborate with Project Management, Safety, and other trades to consistently deliver projects on time and within budget, while maintaining a zero-incident safety record. This position involves hands-on electrical work while also mentoring apprentices and journeymen. Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership & Planning: Develop daily and weekly work plans, assign tasks, supervise a team of 2-10 electricians/apprentices, and facilitate productive toolbox talks. Installations: Lay out and install raceways (EMT/RMC/PVC), panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and grounding/bonding as per NEC standards and project drawings. Controls & Power: Install and troubleshoot motor controls, VFDs, starters, contactors, and support equipment start-ups. Medium/Low Voltage: Assist with MV/LV distribution, gear setting, cable pulls, terminations, and perform torque/megger testing as specified. QA/QC & Documentation: Interpret plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals; perform redlines or as-builts; complete daily reports and track time and quantities accurately. Safety & Compliance: Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, ensure adherence to arc-flash boundaries, PPE requirements, and OSHA/NEC standards; lead Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and report near-miss incidents. Coordination: Collaborate with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and other trades; attend coordination meetings; sequence work to prevent conflicts. Materials & Tools: Forecast material and equipment needs, oversee deliveries, ensure tools and test instruments are maintained, and manage waste and rework. Troubleshooting & Service: Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, meggers, and other testing equipment; effectively resolve issues to minimize downtime. Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance to apprentices on electrical code, workmanship standards, and safety practices; offer performance feedback and support skill development. Closeout: Assist with functional testing, punch lists, commissioning, and preparation of turnover packages. Qualifications Required: 5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work, including experience as a crew leader, foreman, or in a similar leadership role. Extensive knowledge of NEC and local codes, along with construction best practices. Proficiency in conduit bending (hand/hickey/shoebox), conducting panelboard/gear terminations, and installing devices and lighting. Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and project plans; skilled in take-offs and layout plans. Experience with testing and diagnostics using multimeters, meggers, and tools for continuity/insulation resistance and torque verification. Demonstrated history of job site safety leadership and high-quality workmanship. Strong communication, crew scheduling, and the ability to coordinate with PMs, GCs, and inspectors effectively. Valid driver's license; capability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work effectively in various field conditions. Preferred: State Journeyman or Master Electrician license. OSHA 10/30 certifications; NFPA 70E/arc-flash training. Experience with MV distribution, switchgear setting/commissioning, VFD systems, generators/ATS, and basic PLC I/O. Familiarity with project management software such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or Procore; basic exposure to BIM/VDC coordination. Experience in data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments. Certifications in CPR/First Aid; lift and forklift operation certifications.
