We work end-to-end with our sales, merchandising, finance, logistics and technology teams to provide a world-class, holistic digital experience, growing profitable results in a fun and rewarding work environment.The Platform Director of Marketplace is accountable for defining, executing, and scaling the enterprise marketplace strategy and growth roadmap. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the marketplace platform, overseeing seller acquisition, performance, and integration across digital channels. Acting as both an internal thought leader and external ambassador, the Platform Director builds and manages strategic partnerships with brands, retailers, and sellers while driving performance through analytics, governance, and cross functional execution.This role supports executive leadership in shaping marketplace strategy, translates strategic objectives into operating plans, and leads teams responsible for delivering sustainable growth, customer value, and profitable expansion of the marketplace ecosystem.What you’ll be doing:Marketplace Strategy & GrowthDefine and execute the short and long term marketplace strategy and growth roadmap, aligned with enterprise digital and commercial objectives.Identify new marketplace business models, revenue streams, and expansion opportunities across categories, sellers, and customer segments.Establish scalable operating models to support marketplace growth while maintaining quality, compliance, and customer experience standards.Platform & Seller Ecosystem ManagementLead seller acquisition, onboarding, and lifecycle management strategies to drive assortment growth and seller performance.Establish policies, standards, and operating processes governing seller performance, compliance, and experience.Partner with technology teams to influence platform capabilities, integrations, and enhancements that enable scale and efficiency.Performance Management & AnalyticsDefine and own marketplace KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting across seller growth, GMV, profitability, customer experience, and operational health.Drive data based decision making by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across the marketplace portfolio.Partner with finance to support forecasting, budgeting, and performance reviews.Cross Functional LeadershipPartner closely with merchandising, marketing, finance, technology, legal, and operations teams to ensure marketplace offers are visible, integrated, and optimized across all digital channels.Align marketplace priorities with broader digital, merchandising, and customer experience strategies.External Partnerships & RepresentationServe as the internal and external ambassador for the marketplace platform, representing the business with sellers, brands, technology partners, and industry stakeholders.Lead negotiations and ongoing management of strategic partnerships and key seller relationships.What you bring to the table:Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to connect vision to execution.Proven people leader who builds trust, develops talent, and drives accountability.Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into actionable fluential communicator capable of aligning diverse stakeholders around common fortable operating in ambiguity and leading through change.Demonstrated experience defining and executing growth strategies for complex, multi seller platforms.Proven ability to establish KPIs, performance dashboards, and operating metrics.Experience partnering cross functionally with merchandising, marketing, finance, and technology teams.What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Technology, or a related field required or equivalent work experience.10+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, marketplace, e commerce, platform, digital commerce, or related business roles.5+ years of people leadership experience managing managers and/or cross functional teams.What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:Experience scaling a marketplace or platform business with significant GMV or seller growth.Experience negotiating and managing strategic partnerships with external sellers or brands.Advanced experience with marketplace platforms, analytics tools, and seller management systems.MBA or other advanced degree.We Offer:Inclusive culture with associate-led Business Resource Groups22 days of PTO and Holiday Schedule (7 observed paid holidays + 1 floating holiday)Online and Retail Discounts, Company Match 401(k), Physical and Mental Health Wellness programs, and more!The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting.
